Have you ever heard the one about the nerdy, creative homemaker who started her own art class business?

Hello! I am Natasha Gordon. Growing up, I was naturally exposed and drawn to the visual arts, as my dad was an illustrator, photographer, sculptor, and oil painter. The hub of our home was an all-access art studio. In high school, I took as many art classes as I could, including Advanced Placement Art, Advanced Ceramics, and Art Teacher Assistant.

I grew up and married an artist (animator, illustrator, etc.). We then built our own little creative family and home. Then for 9 years, this proud homeschooling mama of young artists volunteered as an art teacher at the local elementary school using the “Meet the Masters” art curriculum and jazzing it up with my own! I simultaneously pursued higher education, studying child development, psychology, film studies, neurodivergence, and school counseling.

After gaining an Associate of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, I achieved my Master of Education in School & College Counseling with a Pupil Personal Services Credential. While serving in school and community organizations, I became increasingly compelled to serve families and children in ALTERNATIVE and PERSONALIZED ways.

The Journey So Far…

An Art Class is Born!

Seeing that PLAY and CREATIVE EXPRESSION are foundational to healthy child development, but rarely accessible or supported, I put one foot in front of the other and built Artful Antics - a home-based art class for homeschooled and public-schooled kids who want to color outside the lines and be themselves.

Here at Artful Antics, we will start a new unit every 4-6 weeks so that every student will have the opportunity to get a versatile visual arts education and socialization through playful projects and lessons, both individually and collaboratively.

Every lesson will cover: “WHY is this even relevant?”, an element of multicultural art history throughout time, examples of famous and local artists and pieces, terminology, and techniques. We will wrap up every Unit with an Exhibit Event!
